By A Different Name is a poignant drama that explores the deep disconnect between a mother and her son, who is in the process of transitioning. Set in a single, emotionally charged scene, the film captures a heartbreaking conversation where love and care are overshadowed by miscommunication and unspoken pain. The son, hurt by his mother's inability to embrace his new identity, clashes with her attempts to help in her own misguided way. As depression and frustration simmer beneath the surface, the film sheds light on the struggles of transitioning and the silent battles of those who feel alone, even in the presence of love.
